No7 Summer Limited Edition Sundowner Collection

Apparently today is the first day of summer and with temperatures set to reach the mid 20s later this week, I’m well and truly in the summer swing. As too are the make up counters with limited edition summer collections popping up all over the shop. No7′s new Sundowner Collection really caught my eye, not only is it summery, but it has a 70s vibe too - bonus!

No7 Sultry Glow Bronzer £13

Become a bronzed beach babe with this three toned palette. The bronzer is made up of ultra fine powders, which give it a light texture, perfect for blending and building colour. At first look, the terracotta shade looks a bit too red, but the three shades blend perfectly together for a mid toned, natural looking bronzer. I love the 70s sunset and leaf design but don’t love the cardboard palette.

Sunset Metallic Eye Quad Palette  £13

A cocktail of four richly pigmented bronzed metallic shades, a perfect accompaniments to bronzed skin. The shadows are quite rich and creamy, On the down side, they’re housed in another cardboard palette… No7 STOP cutting corners.

Stay Perfect Nail Polishes £10

Available in Sultry Sands (pictured), light metallic gold shade that will look perfect with a tan and Golden Palms, a glamourous gold bronze.

Lipglosses £10

Enjoy a balmy night out by the shore with show off sultry lips. No7’s new intensely moisturising gloss leaves lips with a brilliant shine and feeling super soft and kissable. Available in two shades, Sultry Nude and Sultry Red.

Overall a cute summer offering from No7, with a very similar vibe to 17′s Miami Pop collection due out later this month. Available in Boots stores now, plus take advantage of their (nearly always on) 3 for 2 offer.

Lust Have: No7 Spring Collection Gel Liners

As a recent convert to gel liners (Bobbi Brown I love you) I couldn’t wait to try the Limited Edition gel liners from No7′s Spring Collection and I’m happy to report that they didn’t disappoint.

The consistency is very creamy, which makes them easy to apply and “play” with to create the perfect look, once it dries, it stays put for hours. That’s what I love about Gel liners, no smudge. They come with a mini brush, which is handy to keep in your purse, but I find you get better control with a regular sized brush.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, there’s been some mixed reviews, but all in all, a pretty good effort from No7.

Currently available in three great shades, here’s what Lisa Eldridge No7 make-up artist and creative director said..

“Fabulous gel eye liners to focus your BardotKitten eyed look. Gel formulations are so mucheasier than liquids because their creamy textureallows for a longer application time…so time toperfect your flick!
In three great shades, black is a total classic, blue is a chic and softer alternative to black and the creamy bright turquoise is just fabulous for making a bold eye statement.”

Do they rival the Bobbi Brown ones? For me, no, but that doesn’t mean I can’t find a place in my heart, and make up bag for them. A snip at £10, no wonder they’re flying off the shelves. Right now available in the 3 for 2 offer.

Cheryl Cole’s Make up look for Elle Magazine

If you haven’t already, I urge you to buy February’s Edition of UK Elle Magazine. Not just because the front cover features the beautiful Cheryl Cole, but because her look was created by my make hero Lisa Eldridge.

I’m a huge fan of the smokey eye and Lisa pairs them perfectly with strong brows and pale skin. It’s like the legs OR clevage rule, when creating a strong smokey eye, don’t over due the lips, bronze or blusher – it’s too much on one face and dilutes the impact of the eye.

 C’est pretty, c’est chic, c’est Cheryl.

Keep an eye on Lisa’s blog, she’s bound to recreate the look in one of her tutorials.
