BIG hair alert

My god they’re all at it. Has someone sent out a memo saying Dynasty hair’s ok and forgot to include me?

First it was Cheryl…

It gets even bigger in the new Elnett Hairspray campaign

 But now…

If it was just the “stars” of TOWIE (The Only Way Is Essex) or Big Brother “beauties” I could dismiss this trend as one best left to Katies price et al, but when icons like SJP and Rihanna hop on the back combing bandwagon, I got-to- thinking…. should we take this one seriously?

If these pictures haven’t put you off and you feel inspired to channel your inner Tina Turner, you’ll need a pin tail comb for back combing and tonnes of strong hold hairspray, I’d recommend Tresemme’s Freeze hold £4.29, there’s nothing stronger.

Umberto giannini recently brought out a product called back comb in a bottle, haven’t tried it personally, but if it does what it says on the tin, you too can look like you’ve been dragged through a hedge backwards.

A word (actually pictures) of warning…

And if Tina, Madonna and Jon Bon Jovi haven’t put you off, you go girl!

Cheryl’s DY-NASTY Hair

There’s big hair, then there’s CHERYL’S hair…..

Arriving for her first day in her new job Stateside wearing a purple, orange and turquoise ensemble complete with camels toe and hair bigger than Simon Cowel’s ego (who’d have thought that was possible)! All I can scream is CHERYL WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?!

And all that hairspray can’t be doing the Ozone layer any favours.

Make Up Trends Spring/Summer 2011 – Bold Lips

New year, new you? With spring around the corner (humour me, I’m trying to be optimistic) it’s the perfect time to enbrace some new looks. It’s out with the old, in with the new as we take a look at some of the key beauty trends for Spring/Summer 2011, starting with…

Bold Lips

This look was big last year, but this season it’s bigger, bolder and brighter than before. Block colours were every where on the Spring/Summer 2011 catwalks and the celebs are following suit. Red’s still big…

but it’s orange and fushia that will really take centre stage. Leading by example, Kate Bosworths rocks pink lips by keeping the rest of her make up neat and polished…

I’m loving Mac’s Viva Glam Ga Ga lipstick £13.50, ALMOST as bold as it’s name sake, it features a high lustre finish and cool blue-pink shade.

I haven’t tried it yet, but Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Volupté Lipstick in No. 10 Provocative Pink (£21 at Boots) looks as opulent as they come! It promises to transform lips with the ultimate sensuality.

Whether they’re shiny or matte, let your lips do the talking this spring.

Cheryl Cole’s Make up look for Elle Magazine

If you haven’t already, I urge you to buy February’s Edition of UK Elle Magazine. Not just because the front cover features the beautiful Cheryl Cole, but because her look was created by my make hero Lisa Eldridge.

I’m a huge fan of the smokey eye and Lisa pairs them perfectly with strong brows and pale skin. It’s like the legs OR clevage rule, when creating a strong smokey eye, don’t over due the lips, bronze or blusher – it’s too much on one face and dilutes the impact of the eye.

 C’est pretty, c’est chic, c’est Cheryl.

Keep an eye on Lisa’s blog, she’s bound to recreate the look in one of her tutorials.
