What’s in August’s Glossybox?

August’s Glossybox is here… and it’s looking like a good un! Can it be a month already? In case you’ve been living on the moon and don’t know what Glossybox is all about, read this. I guess so. The theme is Wash and Glow and this is what I’ve got…

MURAD Time Release Blemish Cleanser 30ml

I’m quite excited about this one, I’m prone to the odd spot or five and Murad products are normally pretty effective.

AHAVA Mineral Body Lotion 40ml

Tested a little on my hand, it feels quite rich and intensely moisturising – beware, it’s highly perfumed though.

DANIEL SANDLER Baby Jet Mascara

I’m SUPER excited about this one! Could it be the perfect partner to 17’s Falsifeye Mascara? The tiny wand means it can get in all those little nooks and crannies.

KMS CALIFORNIA HAIRSTAY Style Boost 200ml

I’ve known and loved many KMS products in the past, so I’ve got high hopes for this.

REBEL NAILS Nail Wrap (for TOES)

Um, toe wraps, What now? Finger wraps, maybe, but toe wraps, not so much! We’ll see, maybe one for my little sister.

First impressions are pretty positive this month! There’s some full size products again, I’m pleased to receive an actual make up product and I think I’ll use 4 out of the 5!

I’ll be back with full product reviews once I’ve given them the third degree.

Let me know what you got and what you think of August’s Glossybox.

Orange Make up – Eek or Chic?

I make no secret of the fact that I’m a big fan of corals and peaches but ORANGE, is that a step too far? As we know it was a huge look at the Spring/Summer 2011 catwalks, but can it translate for real people living real lives?

With celebs including Fergie, Scarlett Johansson and  Chloe Sevingy embracing tangerine trend, it looks like it’s working its way down the food chain, so should we get ready?

The thought of wearing orange or neon make up in general conjures up not so fond memories of scrunchies and cycling shorts, but in my attempt to overcome the 80s trauma I’m ready to give it a go… are you?

Starting with nails

I’m rocking Nails Inc’s Candy Orange nail polish today (courtesy of InStyle magazine) which looked pretty funky at home when I was applying it, but today in the outside World, I’m worried I look like I’ve coloured them in with a highlighter pen.  Still, they’re bright, bold and oh so eye catching and for summer, I think they fit right in.

That’s a thumbs up for the nails (I think) but zesty eyes and lips may be a step too far; That I’ll leave to models, teenagers and Top of the Pops 2.

The good…

Fendi Spring Summer 11

The bad…

Not so Fergilicious

If you’re feeling brave, here’s my top punpkin picks.

Illamasqua Toxic Nature Collection Lipstick in Flare £15.50

MAC lipstick in Neon Orange £13.50

Lunch time treat… Barry M Limited Edition Nail Paint

They’ve done it again. Another stunning colour from nail polish supremo Barry M.

As the summer vibe continues, this pot’s all you need for funky, fresh, summery nails.

The pinky/lilac shade has the WOW factor, it caught my eye as soon as I stepped foot down the make up aisle and the gold “blinging” lid make it look much more expensive than it really is. As with Barry Nail Paints the consistency is rather thin, but I find they’re a dream to apply, unlike thick and glupey alternatives. It dries really quick and is best applied with a base and top coat.

Here’s a quick swatch on my thumb.

My only gripe, it doesn’t have a beautiful name to match, instead it’s known as Limited Edition 030 (I reckon that’s code for Drop Dead GORGEOUS). For £2.99 it’s top of my summer steals, and right now available 3 for 2 at Boots.

Girls, you know where you’re going for lunch!

Oh my GOSH

Gosh have launched these limited edition nail varnishes for spring 2011 and they tick all the trend boxes – an über-bright pink, two pretty pastels and a matte grey, all with a different special edition lids. Gaw-Jus! Team with your best colour-block outfit and a popping bright pout to put an instant spring in your step! Exclusively in store at Superdrug, just £4.99!

Snap them up quick, they’ll sell out fast.
