Love it Share it

I don’t normally blog about my fashion pieces but this bag’s so cute, and a bargain, I wanted to share it.

I went to a charity ball in Glasgow last week and had just one week, and not much budget to find an outfit. I opted for a safe LBD (that’s LONG black dress) but really wanted a statement box bag. I spotted some gorgeous ones in Reiss, Coast and Dune but cost between £80-150. Luckily I stumbled across this gem in NEW LOOK.

It retails for £15.99 and I had a 20% discount voucher! It looks much more expensive than it was and is very well put together. Love the diamante clasp and optional gold chain strap.

It wasn’t too small like many box clutches, I managed to squeeze in my camera, lipstick and hairbrush. Here’s how it looked in action…

My make up doesn’t show up so well in the picture, but I’m wearing the Kate for Rimmel Lipstick in 08.

Kate Moss for Rimmel Lipstick Shade 08

I liked shade 5 sooo much (read the review here) that I bought another.

Shade 8 – I’m still really annoyed that they didn’t come up with sexier names like Mossy Mauve – is a muted pink. I went to a ball at the weekend sporting plum smoky eyes. I didn’t want to clash with bold lips so opted for this soft pink and it worked really well.

As with shade 5, it’s soft, moisturising and velvetty. It’s long lasting and smells gorgeous.

Shades 1,2,3,4,5,8,12

At £5.49 they represent really great value and are now available, 3 for 2, at both Boots and Superdrug stores in the UK.

Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick for Rimmel London

This lipstick is good! In fact it’s very good! I could happily have taken away the full range. I was tempted with the nude shade for opted for the bright and bold, but disappointedly name 002 – a hot pink, cos let’s face it bold lips are here to stay.

The shade itself is I’d describe as a true fushia pink. For a budget brand, its formula is very impressive and the breakthrough black diamond complex means it reflects like never before. It’s rich, opaque and very highly pigmented – meaning a little goes a long way. I tested it straight from the bullet at first and ended up with it all the place – use a lip brush for more accurate application.

It had serious staying power too, easily withstanding a few drinks. It has a light fruity smell which is an added bonus, my only complaint, the bullet looks shorter than regular lipsticks – have Rimmel scrimped on the gramage?

The closest dupe in my collection is a MUA lipstick – not so much in the bullet but certainly on the skin.

Rimmel Left, MUA right

I thought it would be similar to MAC’s Girl About Town but it’s not as BRIGHT and has less of a blue undertone.

Anyway Mossy’s lippies get a thumbs up from me. Check out the rest of the shades here.

Kate Moss Lipstick Collection for Rimmel

The wait is over! Mossy’s lipticks have hit the highstreet and are going down a storm.

Shades 1,2,3,4,5,8,12

The packaging is seriously sleek and sexy – matt black casing embossed with Kate’s signature. Available in seven rocking shades, including – as many predicted a bright red, as well as shocking pink and a muted nude. The formula is creamy and moisturising, the colours are quite opaque and the finish I’d describe as satin.

For me the stand out shades are are 1 – the classic Red, 2 the fushia Pink and 4 the Gothic, and oh so on trend deep purple.

In Boots stores now £5.45. If you’re unable to choose just one shade, why not take advantage of Boots’ current 3 for 2 promotion.

Beauty Waitlist… Kate Moss Make up for Rimmel London

Here’s another one to watch out for…

Not content with conquering the fashion world, Kate Moss now has her sights set on to the beauty industry.

Mossy is set to launch a make up collaberation with Rimmel London – First she modelled for them, now she’s designing for them.

Set to feature six Kate inspired lipstick colours,  including her signature red shade, and a selection of eyeshadows housed in an uber cool union Jack compact. No doubt the ‘Kate effect’ will ensure the line is a massive hit, just like her collaboration with Topshop.

The products also come with a leopard print rhinestone pouch… that’s it, I’m sold!

Unfortunately we’ll have to wait until October 2011 to get our mits on them.

Paris Fashion Week Top Beauty Trends A/W 11-12

As the curtains close on Paris fashion week, it marks the end of the craziest, busiest, most manic weeks on the fashion calendar. Alas, the fashionistas can breathe a sigh of relief, done for another 6 months, well not quite, but the shows are. So amidst the drama what did those chic Parisians showcase as their top beauty trends for A/W11?

Pink Lips

Top of the agenda, and much to my delight is Pink. Oh I looooove pink. For so long we’ve been buzzing about corals, reds, burgundys, basically everything but pink. Back with a bang in Paris was medium, soft pretty pinks -think  candy, salmon and pastel.

Nina Ricci stole the show with the prettiest pinks around.

New Season Eye

From the pretty to the powerful. We’ve seen this at each fashion week, which translates into.. this WILL be big next season and you MUST start wearing your eye shadow this way! I’m still not convinced I’ll be applying eyeshadow all the way to the brows anytime soon, but never say never.

Eyes were dramatic at, dare we say John Galiano.

And Chanel

Minimal

In a season full of brights and bolds it’s nice to see the return of the barely there make up look. Dewy skin, pale lips and strong brows were on the menu at McCartney and as we know where Stella leads, other follow. Pretty, ladylike beauty was the perfect contradiction to the masculine tailoring she showcased.

Pretty and feminine was also the trend du jour at Chanel and Chloe. Eyes were a little more dramatic, but the principle was the same – pretty, polishes and chic. What else would you expect?

Suprising audiences at Paris was….

Kate Moss walking for Louis Vuitton

And finally, stealing the show in Paris was…

GaGa, walking for Thierry Mugler in a collection that could have been made for her. Showing that what she lacks in height, she makes up in heels.

Rocky Horror or just plain Horror?

Kate Moss in “Lesbian” Kiss with model Lea T

Hot off the press…

With minimal make-up, a quiff and faux undercut, Kate Moss is barely recognisable as she is pictured locked in a passionate embrace with transgender model Lea T for the cover of Love Magazine.

In a reversal of roles, Kate has been cast as the ‘male’ while Lea T plays ‘the female’ for the latest cover of the often controversial mag. Kate’s mannish look is reminiscent of the famous Calvin Klein campaigns in the 90s that helped propel her to superstardom.

Get in quick – the attention-grabbing image for Love, will no doubt ensure issues are flying off the shelves when they hit newsstands next month.
